A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support its finance and accounting operations. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this individual will play a key role in managing revenue, expenses, payroll processing, and general accounting activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable invoices, establish new vendor accounts, perform account reconciliations, and assist with month-end close activities.
- Manage accounts receivable functions, including customer invoicing, payment application, account reconciliations, and collection efforts.
- Partner with internal teams to support credit approvals and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Prepare and/or oversee annual 1099 reporting in coordination with the Accounts Payable function.
- Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and respond to banking inquiries as needed.
- Process bi-weekly payroll while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare journal entries, analyze financial results, and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of finance and accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with annual audits and provide supporting documentation as required.
- Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts to support financial planning and decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial data analysis.
- Strong organizational, documentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
